Christmas Chronicles Renewal Status
As of now, we do not have an official confirmation either from the showmakers or the streaming platform about the renewal status of Christmas Chronicles. Christmas Chronicles 1 made its debut on Netflix in November 2018 and was a mass hit among the audience. The first part gathered over 20 million views and the sequel of the movie amassed over 1 billion streams. So looking at the positive numbers, we can consider that Christmas Chronicles could be underway or start its pre-production anytime soon!
What is delaying Christmas Chronicles?
The probable reason why Christmas Chronicles was delayed so much is because of the over-scheduling of the cast and crew members. Shortly after the wrapping up of ‘Christmas Chronicles’ 2, the writer and director of the movie Chris Columbus shifted onto the movie adaptation of the horror video game ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ and other such projects. Furthermore, the lead actor and Santa Claus Kurt Russell was also quite caught up in playing the character of Mr Nobody in the ‘Fast and Furious’ movies and also Apple TV’s high-profile series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’.

Speaking of Kurt Russell, the actor is extremely committed to any of the roles that he plays on screen. During a chat with Yahoo! Movies in 2020, Chris Columbus talked about the actor’s commitment towards playing any role. He said, “When Kurt Russell plays Santa Claus, he writes 170 pages about the guy’s backstory and mythology. That is an actor’s commitment.” He furthermore said, “Russell said to me, ‘I want to walk into the sunset, this being the last role I play.’ He wants to continue doing it.”

Darby Camp (young Kate Pierce) is definitely up to reprise her role in the threequel. She said, “I would be interested in doing a third one. I would love to get to work with everybody again.” She furthermore said that she has some character developments in mind for Kate Pierce. She said, “If we get a third one, I would really love to see Kate actually drive the sleigh on her own.”
Tyrese Gibson and Jahzir Bruno who joined in the star cast a little bit later in the sequel also confirmed that they both would be more than pleased to join the ensemble for another part of the trilogy movie series. So, we can expect an official announcement about Christmas Chronicle 3 from the showmakers or the streaming platform Netflix anytime soon!!!
