Terra Formars is an anime adaptation of a manga series of the same name. It was written and illustrated by Yuu Sasufa and Kenichi Tachibana respectively. So far there are two seasons of the anime series. It’s produced by Liden Films (Tokyo Revengers).
Terra Formars season 1 aired from September 26 to December 19, 2014. It had a total of 13 episodes. The second season, titled Terra Formars: Revenge, premiered on April 2 to June 2016. Season 2 had changed on the series’ main staff but was still produced by Liden Films with the help of TYO Animations.

Will there be a season 3 of Terra Formars?
It’s been 6 long years since the last season of Terra Formars premiered. And unfortunately enough, there hasn’t been any renewal announcement as of yet. But the question still stands: Is there any possibility of Terra Formars returning for season 3?
The answer is yes. The previous two seasons of Terra Formars, including two OVAs, adapted about 11 volumes of the manga. So far Yuu Sasuga has published a total of 22 volumes, and the series is still ongoing. Some chapters are yet to be covered. Hence, there’s enough source material to produce a third season.

Terra Formars season 3 release date
As of November 2022, there’s no release date scheduled for Terra Formars season three. As the show is yet to be renewed, the official release date is unknown. However, if we count the OVA (released in 2018), as the last episode of the series, we still have time to see season 3. Anime adaption usually takes 3-4 years to produce. Stay tuned for more updates!

What to expect from the plot of Terra Formars season three?
Terra Formars speaks about the story of the 26th century. With the space program attempting to travel to Mars, 21st-century scientists warm up the planet so that humans can abide there. The scientists, thus, come up with a cost-effective plan to send away cockroaches. The roaches would mold and absorb the sunlight while the insect corpses would serve as a food source for the mold.
However, a lethal disease called Alien Engine Virus spreads on Earth. Annex I team, consisting of many enhanced men and women, has been sent to Mars to find the disease’s cure. It isn’t easy for them because now Mars is overrun by powerful humanoid cockroaches. They have mutated and become one of the most intelligent species to rule the planet Mars. The season 3 plot will be a battle between the humans and humanoid cockroaches.
