Your Lie in April is deemed as one of the best high school romance anime of all time for its cruelly realistic portrayal of emotions. Although the series had a tragic end; it also has its share of heartwarming moments especially between Kousei and Kaori.
The series was launched back in October 9, 2014, and ended on March 19, 2015. Needless to say, it’s been nearly seven years and it seems like many fans are still waiting for the anime series to continue the story focusing on Arima Kousei after the passing of Kaori. However, the future seems bleak for the series to return with another season. Let’s find out below.
Will Season 2 of ‘Your Lie in April’ Ever Happen?
We hate to tell you this but it’s highly unlikely that season 2 of Your Lie in April will ever happen. The concrete reason would be because the anime series entirely covered the whole 11 volumes of the manga series. Moreover, the manga series itself ended on February 6, 2015, with the eleventh volume. So, there you have it.
‘Your Lie in April’ Season 2 Release Date: When Is It?
As previously mentioned, the anime series followed the entire manga series. To put it, both the anime and manga series have ended for good. Even if the authors of the manga series decide to return and work on a new story mainly centering on Arima Kousei’s life, it would still take a year or two to adapt the manga series into anime. So it’s anyone’s guess at this point and the earliest we can expect a release date is sometime in 2023.
What Could Possibly Happen in ‘Your Lie in April’ Season 2?
The first season ended with the passing of Karoi but didn’t clearly show us it’s aftermath especially the viewers wanted to see more of the devastating moments of Kousei’s coping with the death of Kaori and moving on with his life. However, nothing has been confirmed regarding a second season and moreover, the author Naoshi Arakawa himself revealed that the story was prefect set and continuing any further will only ruin the entire story. So, there won’t be a season 2 of ‘Your Lie in April’ because the anime series covered all the chapters in the manga series and unless a new intriguing story emerges, ‘Your Lie in April’ will possibly never happen.
