The award-winning show is making a comeback. Westworld has three seasons so far. Fans can now breathe a great sigh of relief and look forward to what’s coming as there is a lot more of the story to tell.
The American sci-fi western television series has been wowing us ever since its first release back in 2016 and plans to continue serving the audiences with terrific performances. Here’s everything we know about Westworld season 4. Let’s get into the details.
Westworld Season 4 Release Date: When Will it Premiere?
According to reports, Production has kicked off but the specific release date of Westworld season 4 has not been confirmed yet.
Although we don’t have a premiere, given the gap of a little over a year between each season, we would expect season 4 by 2022. As per speculations, the new season is expected to arrive by May 2022 but so far no information has been provided by the makers so our best prediction is that season 4 of Westworld may likely hit our small screens by the end of 2022 at the earliest.
When Westworld season 4 does air, you can watch it on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK and HBO in the US.
Till then, have patience.
Westworld Season 4 Cast: Which Stars Will Return?
In the Westworld series, one shouldn’t be sad about not seeing his/her favourite characters once that character has been killed or died. Do you know why? Because even if their characters are killed off, the stars can still return in a new host body, that being said, deaths from the third season could return in the upcoming season. Cool right?
Here are some of the names of the stars who are likely to return and play their respective roles in the fourth season.
Thandiwe Newton (as Maeve Millay), Jeffrey Wright (as Bernard Lowe / Arnold Weber), Tessa Thompson (as Charlotte Hale), Luke Hemsworth (as Ashley Stubbs), Simon Quarterman (as Lee Sizemore), Rodrigo Santoro (as Hector Escaton), Aaron Paul (as Caleb Nichols),
“I have no idea what they have planned for me,” Newton said (via Looper): “I’m teamed with Tessa [Thompson], I know. Hopefully, we can do some rightful damage.”
Ed Harris was killed by Thompson’s ‘Halores’ but in typical Westworld but he was replaced by a host, which she controls, which means Harris will return in season 4.
Except for Evan Rachel Wood (who played as Dolores Abernathy), will not be returning for the next season.
Nolan confirmed (via variety): “Dolores is gone. We love Evan Rachel Wood and we haven’t started talking publicly about exactly what the show looks like going forward. But it looks very different.”
Rachel Wood on the Variety and iHeart podcast The BigTicket said, “I found out halfway through, or towards the end.” When asked about her character’s fate.
She further added, “We really find out the arc of our characters episode by episode. We get a general idea at the beginning of each season; they tell us where our characters are at, what their mission is, and then go.
“Then we learn as we go. It’s one of the reasons why I think it’s challenging to work on, but also what makes it exciting,” she continued. “So [co-creator Jonathan Nolan] called me up and broke the news to me.
“He said that she was going to die. He was very blunt about it, and slightly cryptic about other questions I had, but confirmed that yes, the Dolores that we know is gone.”
But that doesn’t mean that we won’t ever get to meet Wood again.
Westworld season 4 plot: How’s it going to be?
As for the information regarding the storyline of season 4, not much has been revealed but Nolan and Joy have asserted that they have a rough idea for the show.
As Bernard stated in the previous season’s final moments, next up is the time for “an answer to what comes after the end of the world.”
In the third season, it raised more questions and fans are anxious to learn what fate lies on Dolores, William and Bernard.
In a statement, president of HBO programming, Casey Bloys said, “From the western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn. We can’t wait to see where their inspired vision takes us next.”
