True Story Season 2: Release date, Cast and Plot

Will Kevin Hart return for season 2 of the Netflix thriller? Will we get to see more of the series in the future? After watching the first season of True Story, fans are already wondering what’s next for The Kid and the rest of these characters.

Here’s everything about True Story season 2, including its release date, cast, plot, and other updates!

True Story season 2: Will there be a second instalment of the series?

True Story is a Netflix limited series. Thus, at first glance, one may assume that there won’t be a season 2 of the series. Limited series are only one season, typically. However, there have been examples of limited series getting picked up for multiple seasons. But again, that doesn’t happen often.

On top of that, the True Story plot is pretty self-contained. There’s a clear beginning, middle, and end. And, as things stand, most of the loose ends have been tied up. Now, we can’t be so sure whether there could be more to this story. Things ended pretty clean.

That said, the chances of True Story season 2 renewal seem bleak, as of now. In case we receive any potential updates, we will inform you guys. Stay tuned!

True Story season 2 release date: When’s season 2 going to release?

Assuming True Story season 2 is happening, it’s probably going to be a while before it happens. We all know Hart has a ton of big projects in the works.

So, at the earliest, True Story season 2 might release at the very end of 2022. However, it’s more likely that the release date would be in 2023 or even 2024.

True Story season 2 cast: Who’s going to be featured in it?

Netflix has not announced the True Story season 2 cast yet. A lot of the main cast died in the previous season, so they obviously wouldn’t be back for the sequel.

Kevin Hart would definitely have to return. We’d also assume that William Catlett, Tawny Newsome, and Paul Adelstein would return for season 2.

Very early in the process I had the idea that it’s his brother that sets him up, and that he has to kill his brother in order to make it all work in an incredibly narcissistic sacrifice,” creator Eric Newman told Entertainment Weekly.

“I love the idea of the moment in the show where he’s talking to the kid with cancer in the cancer ward, and you see Kid decide, ‘I have to get away with this because of what I am and who I am to people.’ There’s this sort of 10th-degree narcissism, and murdering your brother and then using it as a kind of human-interest angle in your career is so sick – and kind of great. People commoditise their tragedies all the time, and that’s what he does.”
