The series features Charlotte Best, Elsa Pataky, Aaron Jakubenko, Marco Pigossi, Richard Davies, and Mattias Inwood.
The series captivated viewers as it encompasses powerful female leads and a compelling storyline. Despite the series’ popularity, it’s unclear if Netflix will greenlight ‘Tidelands’ for another season run as it has been a wait of over three years and till now there has been no concrete information. Has Season 2 of Tidelands been Renewed?
Currently, no. The series has neither been canceled or renewed. Netflix is yet to provide an official announcement on whether or not the series will return with a second season.
Speaking to Love.com, executive producer Nathan Mayfield revealed that Netflix agreed to produce the series because “they’d been pitched a lot of stuff in Australia, but nothing that felt big. I think everything had felt true to an Australian audience, but [they] hadn’t really thought about what it looked like as a global show. He also said what works in Tideland’s favor is that Netflix gave the writers the choice to be “big, be bold and play in worlds that are rarely seen on Australian TV — in crime, thriller and supernatural.”
Whether a third season will happen or not is all up to Netflix although it seems uncertain as it has been quite a long wait.
Tidelands Season 2 Release Date: When is it?
Nothing is confirmed since the series is waiting for its renewal status but if renewed and production begins by this year, fans can expect the new season to arrive sometime in 2023. However, it is best to wait for official announcements.
The Cast of Tidelands Season 2: Who will Return?
It’s difficult to predict since many of the key characters died in the first season itself. However, we expect that the surviving characters will once again return in the second season. The characters we anticipate to see are Charlotte Best in the role of Cal McTeer, Fin Little will play Gilles, Chloe De Los Santos will be back as Bijou.
Augie and Dylan survived despite their injuries so they will also likely appear in the second season. It’s unclear whether Elsa Pataky will reprise her role as Adrielle. Other characters likely to return are Richard Davies plays Colton Raxter, Dalip Sondhi portrays Lamar Cloudier, Mattias Inwood will play Corey Welch, Jacek Koman will play Gregori Stolin, Alex Dimitriades plays Paul Murdor, Peter O’Brien plays Bill Sentele, Madeleine Madden plays Viola, Caroline Brazier plays Rosa, and Hunter Page-Lochard will play Jared.
Tidelands Season 2 Plot Details
If Tidelands season 2 returns, expect the story to continue from where it left off in the first season. Viewers will see a much stronger Cal as she embarks to Orphelin Bay seeking the mysteries surrounding the island. Also expect to see some deaths in the second season.
