Created by Emma Reeves and helmed by Brian Grant, “The Worst Witch” is a fantasy drama TV series based on a series of children’s books that sold millions of copies. It has the exact title penned and illustrated by Jill Murphy which debuted in January 2017.

 

The series is being produced by ZDF, Netflix, and CBBC. It stars Clare Higgins, Raquel Cassidy, Bella Ramsey, Meibh Campbell, Tallulah Milligan, Jenny Richardson, Dagny Rollins, Miriam Petche, Kacey Ainsworth, and Wendy Craig amongst many others. 

 

The series follows the adventures of the central character Mildred Hubble, who comes from an ordinary family, and how she struggles to get into the occult academy. She gives her best effort to be a good witch rather than being named the worst witch- just like the given title.

The Worst Witch Season 5 Release Date

 

The first season of The Worst Witch was released on January 11 and ended on March 29, 2017. The second season aired from January 8 to March 26, 2018. The third season ran from January 7 to March 25, 2019, and finally, the fourth season came out on January 27, 2020, and concluded on April 20, 2020.

 

As of now, the release date has not yet been announced and there’s been no concrete information concerning the renewal of The Worst Witch Season 5 even though it’s been over two years since the last season premiered. However, throughout the fourth season, the show makers did drop hints about a potential fifth and final series. Further details await.

The Worst Witch Season 5 Story

 

If a fifth season gets renewed, the storyline would center on the graduation year of the students in Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches including Mildred Hubble and her friends. The 5th season of The Worst Witch will likely be the final series and hopefully, may all the unsolved questions and puzzles get answered.
