As of now, no official statement regarding the concrete release of The Wheel of Time season 2 has been made. However, on May 20, 2021, the official page of the series confirmed the renewal of its second chapter through a tweet mentioning “With this many Ta’veren in one place, one season was never going to be enough.” The tweet was accompanied by a picture of the script of the second season as well.
Although Amazon didn’t reveal any update on its release, filming has been going on since July 2021. If the situation remains under control, we can probably anticipate seeing its continuation by mid-2022. What’s more, the upcoming season encompasses an eight-episode structure as usual. The Wheel of Time Season 2 Plot: What to Expect?
Not much is known about the upcoming plot but Kate Fleetwood at JordanCon 2022 through CBR revealed what’s ahead for her character. She said that Liandrin will play a very important part in the second season, which comprises her back story and her dark side.
“I’ve really enjoyed the playfulness of Liandrin. But there is, there are — there’s a deeper and a darker side to Liandrin, but also her own personal backstory I’ve really been able to immerse myself in the second season which has been a real gift… there’s definitely some surprises in store in Season 2.”
