The Wheel of Time is an American fantasy TV series that first aired on November 19, 2020, on Amazon Prime. Created by Rafe Judkins, the series is based on an original novel series of the same name (written by Robert Jordan). The Wheel of Time TV series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon Studios in association with Radar Productions, Iwot Pictures, Long Weekend, and Little Island Productions. 

Soon after the release, The Wheel of Time became the most-watched TV series of Amazon prime in 2021. A total of eight episodes were released in the first edition of this series, each of 54-62 mins. The story of the series revolves around a woman named Moiraine, a member of a powerful group of women called the Aes Sedai. Altogether, this series is a masterpiece, which takes its viewers on a dramatic adventure injected with magic!

The Wheel of Time season 2: Release Date 

As of now, no official statement regarding the concrete release of The Wheel of Time season 2 has been made. However, on May 20, 2021, the official page of the series confirmed the renewal of its second chapter through a tweet mentioning “With this many Ta’veren in one place, one season was never going to be enough.” The tweet was accompanied by a picture of the script of the second season as well.

Although Amazon didn’t reveal any update on its release, filming has been going on since July 2021. If the situation remains under control, we can probably anticipate seeing its continuation by mid-2022. What’s more, the upcoming season encompasses an eight-episode structure as usual. Plus, the official Twitter page also declared openly that the first episode of the season two saga will be named ‘A Taste of Solitude’.

So as of now, it’s difficult to pinpoint an unleash date but the new season will likely arrive between October to December 2022 or sometime in 2023.

  • Zoë Robins is also chosen by Amazon for Nynaeve al’Meara role
  • Ceara Coveney is selected for Elayne Trakand
  • Thomas Chaanhing will be playing Lord Agelmar
  • Sophie Okonedo is performing in Siuan Sanche’s role
  • Guy Roberts is also reappearing in Uno Nomesta’s role
  • Sandra Yi Sencindiver as Lady Amalisa
  • Gregg Chillingirian will play Ingtar Shinowa
  • Arnas Fedaravicius is chosen for Masema Dagar character
  • Natasha O’Keeffe has been selected as a cast but the role is not declared yet, same continued with Meera Syal, the role is yet to be announced. 
  • However, Aviendha’s role has yet to be cast.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 Plot: What to Expect?

Not much is known about the upcoming plot but Kate Fleetwood at JordanCon 2022 through CBR revealed what’s ahead for her character. She said that Liandrin will play a very important part in the second season, which comprises her back story and her dark side. 


“I’ve really enjoyed the playfulness of Liandrin. But there is, there are — there’s a deeper and a darker side to Liandrin, but also her own personal backstory I’ve really been able to immerse myself in the second season which has been a real gift… there’s definitely some surprises in store in Season 2.”
