The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 3 – Release date, Cast and Plot

The zombie apocalypse continues its shambling march toward world domination!

With the introduction of some game-changing new enemies that could affect the apocalypse series at large, The Walking Dead: World Beyond also finally teased how the zombie-like corpses came to be in the first place, with a rare look outside the virus’s effects outside the continental US. However, does that mean there’s any chance of getting a renewal of the series? Will season 3 happen? Here’s everything you need to know about a potential third season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Will there be a season 3 of The Walking Dead: World Beyond?

The Walking Dead: World Beyond was meant to focus on the life of those who have grown up amid the virus outbreak. And, how they’ve adjusted to zombies as part of their normal life while trying to navigate adulthood. But unfortunately, the show was never meant to progress beyond two seasons. The showrunner Matt Negrete explained they wanted to experiment with telling a story within a finite amount of time.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in 2020, he said: “It’s not like, ‘Oh, we’ll see what happens in season 6,’ or whatever. We’re going to go for two seasons. It’s going to be 20 episodes total. It’s challenging because there’s a lot we need to fit in those 20 episodes. But, at the same time, it’s great to approach it knowing what you’re working towards.

“So we’re really looking at these two seasons as two very different feeling chapters of hopefully a very satisfying book. We’re closing in right now with the writers on the last few episodes. So we’re getting down to the wire. It’s exciting. I hope people dig it.” Hence, there won’t be a season 3 of The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

When’s the release date for The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 3?

Because the show has been cancelled, there’s no release date for The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 3.

What to expect from the plot of The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 3?

Unlike the prequel series Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond is going to take us further into the future of the zombie apocalypse. Showrunner Matt Negrete is about to show us all how the next generation is handling the threat of extinction and their responsibility to continue the work of rebuilding civilization.

According to TV Line, the series takes place ten years after the start of the zombie pandemic, and follows two “young female protagonists.” The two young protagonists mentioned are most likely the characters portrayed by Mansour and Royale. Mansour and Royale represent the first generation of children to “come of age” in the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead.

Think about that for a second: These characters have never known a world without roamers, biters, lame-brains, walkers, Negan — they’re zombie natives, not zombie adaptives. Per AMC’s official synopsis of the series, some will become heroes and some will become villains, but “in the end, all of them will be changed forever.”

However, as the show has been cancelled, there won’t be any continuation of the plot further. Until then, stay connected with us for more updates!
