The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2: Release date, Cast, and Plot

With the success of the first season which premiered on January 28, 2022,  Amazon’s animated adult fantasy series was ordered for a second season shortly after the streaming platform picked up the first season. The upcoming second season will also consist of 12 episodes just like the first season.

“Critical Role blazed a new trail for original digital content, with fresh new voices and humour that earned devoted fans around the world, as evidenced by their wildly successful Kickstarter campaign,” stated Jennifer Salke, boss of Amazon Studios in an interview with Variety. “We’re thrilled to work with the whole team to bring The Legend of Vox Machina, and the new Critical Role series, to our Prime Video customers.”

“We were absolutely floored by the level of enthusiasm we received on the Kickstarter campaign, and now we can deliver exactly what the fans wanted, and more,” Critical Role’s Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham explained in a combined message.

“Teaming with Prime Video to deliver the series to fans across the globe is exciting and surreal – and we’re psyched to be able to tell even more stories with not just one, but two 12-episode seasons!”

So, when do you think the new episodes will be available to watch? Here’s what you need to know.

When is the Release Date for Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina?

First of all, it takes a lot of time to produce an animated series. However, we now know that the series is renewed for a second run, and also with the massive successful Kickstarter campaign of Vox Machina arriving in 2019, there’s been a whole lot of time for the team to begin working on season two.

The first season of The Legend of Vox Machina was supposedly planned to release in late 2020 but due to the pandemic, the release date was further pushed back to early 2022. This indicates that viewers won’t have to wait that long for new episodes to arrive on the small screens.

If we have to make guesses, it’s most likely that the second season will be out in late 2022 as the original scheduled plan or in early 2023 at the earliest.

The Legend of Vox Season 2 Plot: What Would The Storyline Be About?

The first season of The Legend of Vox Machina finishes with a cliffhanger. It ended right after the entrance of four powerful dragons called the Chroma Conclave, activating the following arc of Critical Role’s campaign.

We can predict that Emon gets charred, and Vox Machina will have to engage most of the season with the dragons in a fierce battle as these fire-breathing creatures and friends of Brimscythe create chaos.

In an interview with Screen Rant, talking about the second season Khary Payton said: “There’s definitely talks and I’m excited to see how it all comes out. I think that the first season came out amazing, some of the animation was just sick. I love all of those guys and the story they told was amazing and I just knew that another season was coming out. Yeah, I’m pretty sure that I’ve got some characters to play.”

Grey DeLisle further added: “In some capacity, yes. I can’t say if it will be Vox Machina, but it might be something adjacent. [Laughs] I’m being so bad right now, I can’t say what, but I know that I’ll always stay in the people’s universe for the foreseeable future.”
