Speaking about the plot of the Seri, Dan Sefton said, ” he had ‘no idea’ what a hypothetical fifth season of The Good Karma Hospital was.
Even Dr Gabriel’s actor, James Krishna-Floyd, believes Dan deserves credit for being patient with the character’s plot and delaying any possible romance.”
He added, “I believe it is a really audacious and hazardous endeavour,” he told us earlier this year. “You’re afraid of being dull, aren’t you? However, it is a gradual burn, and I believe that the authors, filmmakers, myself, and Amrita Acharia (who portrays Ruby) all deserve credit for producing something with depth and intrigue.” After all these conversations, we can conclude that season 5 will probably pick from where the fourth season will end.

The Good Karma Hospital Officially Axed by ITV: No Season 5
Sadly, The Good Karma Hospital won’t be returning for a fifth season as it has been axed by ITV.
An insider disclosed to The Sun, “The show ended with a storyline which delighted viewers — marriage between two people who clearly loved each other very much.”
Further adding: “Plus, audience figures had been slipping of late, almost three million down from the show’s debut series, which isn’t a great sign. It felt like the right time to end the story.’’
‘’There are no current plans for any more series,” added a spokesperson for the channel.
News of the cancellation arrives after showrunner Dan Sefton hinted he had ideas for season 5 and felt the series could proceed to ‘grow’ by bringing in new characters to keep things more interesting.
In March 2022, Sefton told Radiotimes.com, “’I think that’s the trick with TV, it has to be a slow evolution, new characters come, and favorite characters move on.
‘’And if the tone of the show is strong, everybody knows what it is, then it can grow with that and get better and better.”
He continued: “I think this is the case with this show, that it has potential to just to keep going and to continue to be entertaining, because that’s the ultimate goal, really.” (Updated 25/11/2022)
