Chelsea Detective is a newly launched British crime mystery TV series conceived by Peter Finchman for which was launched on AcornTVon in March 2022. The series centers on Detective Inspector Max Arnold and Detective Sergeant Priya Shamsie around the Chelsea region of London. Both the detectives are struggling to overcome their hardships by investigating the heinous crimes that arise in the region.

The Chelsea Detective Season 2 Release Date: When is it?
The first season of Chelsea Detective was released on March 7, 2022, and ended on March 28, 2022, on AcornTV consisting four episodes with a runtime of 90 minutes. The first half of the series premiered in the UK on February 7, 2022, and concluded on February, 28, 2022, ahead of its release in the US.
Currently, the show is yet to be renewed or canceled. But given the positive response from the audience and critics, it’s likely that the series will move forward with another season run.
Star Sonita Henry who plays Detective Sergeant Priya Shamise previously conveyed her willingness to proceed with the crime series. “Hopefully America will embrace The Chelsea Detective and Acorn TV can turn around and say yes, absolutely, let’s do this again,” told Sonita. “Let’s get the party back together and go for it because we really would love to do it again.”
Although an official release date is not confirmed, it’s expected that season 2 of The Chelsea Detective will arrive sometime in 2023.
The Cast of The Chelsea Detective Season 2: Who Will Return?
If the series is renewed for a second season, we’re optimistic that the two leading roles Adrian Scarborough and Sonita Henry will reprise their roles as DI Max Arnold and DS Priya Shamsie respectively.
We also expect to see Anamaria Marinca in the role of Astrid Fischer and Davood Ghadami in the role of Nitin Shamsie.
Additionally, some of the cast members who played supporting roles in the first season are likely to return in the second season as well including–
Peter Bankole played DC Connor Pollock, Sophie Stone played Ashley Wilton, Lucy Phelps played DC Jess Lombard, Frances Barber played Olivia Arnold, and Cecilia Appiah played DC Connor Pollock.
The Chelsea Detective Season 2 Plot: Expectations
Plot details are not revealed yet by the showrunners but we expect to see Priya overcoming her doubts and fear about her family, and eventually being able to spend more time with her adorable daughter Poppy. It’s unclear whether Max’s divorce will be finally settled in the next season but it would be nice to see how things go. And of course, the next season will bring in many new cases to be solved by the dynamic detective duo and we can’t wait to see season 2 of The Chelsea Detective as the duo unfolds more new mysteries.
