The Batman: Everything We Know So Far

Lo and behold! We have news for you, the upcoming movie, ‘The Batman’ finished filming. After delays one after the other due to the ongoing global pandemic and finally it’s a wrap! The movie is directed by Matt Reeves and the one with the black cape and emerges in the shadows is played by none other than Robert Pattinson. And just so you know, this film has nothing to do with the DCEU nor the Justice League. The highly anticipated movie is expected to see fresh concepts, new faces and is very much different and ‘darker’ than the previous movies.

Although we won’t get to see the movie until next year. Here’s everything we know so far about The Batman.

The Batman Release Date: When is it releasing?

The Batman movie is slated for release on March 4, 2022.

Warner Bros. was originally scheduled for a summer release on June 25, 2021, but the production was halted due to the pandemic and therefore the initial release date had to be pushed back a few months later and was set to premiere on October 1, 2021. However, the production was abruptly shut down for a second time after the lead actor Robert Pattinson and his stunt double both tested positive for the deadly virus. Hopefully, the current release date remains unaffected and unchanged. Fingers crossed.

The Batman plot

Plot details have not been revealed yet but according to speculations, Batman will encounter multiple villains. Gotham city is notoriously known for having high crime rates and the rise of supervillains, and Bruce Wayne aka Batman’s job is to fight off these bad guys. Batman will also have a sidekick which is Catwoman and together they will stop these villains from harm’s way.

The official synopsis of The Batman reads: “The Riddler plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with Batman and Commissioner Gordon in Gotham City.”

In an interview with Nerdist, director Reeves explained that the film won’t need to be an origin story, but it’ll follow the story of the protagonist’s roots.

“It’s that whole idea of the shadow self and what’s driving you, and how much of that you can incorporate, and how much of it you’re doing that you’re unaware of,” Reeves added. “There’s something in there that feels very psychological, very emotional, and it felt like there was a way of exploring that along with the corruption in this place, Gotham. That feels very current. I think it always does. There’s almost no time when you can’t do a story about corruption. But today, it still seems incredibly resonant.”

In January 2020, Farrell also narrated Reeves’ spin on the character as “really beautiful,” “dark,” and “moving” during his appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Will The Batman have a title?

It’s been confirmed that The Batman working title is ‘Vengeance.’ It was announced on the Production Weekly website.
