Showtime’s Brotherhood Season 4: Release date, Cast, and Plot

Bad news for the Brotherhood fans as it’s been officially confirmed that the series has been axed by Showtime after running for three seasons.

The series made its debut on the Showtime network on July 9, 2006, and, despite the show having attained positive responses, Brotherhood somewhat failed to captivate the audience with just over 445,000. Nevertheless, Showtime renewed the series for a second run consisting of ten episodes which attracted about 368,000 spectators and is way lesser compared to the first season.

Head of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt stated, “Brotherhood is one of our shining hours at Showtime — a drama series that is among the highest-quality shows offered anywhere on television, and we’re proud to keep it firmly in our portfolio.” On November 2, 2008, the third season was released and brought in just 305,000 spectators.

To put it, the decline in viewership greatly affected the series to continue and as a result, Showtime canceled Brotherhood after the third season.

Brotherhood Season 4 Release Date: Will it Happen?

It’s highly unlikely that Brotherhood season 4 will happen in the future, therefore, there is no release date.

According to rumors, Brotherhood has been discontinued and won’t return for season 4. Showtime executives have not officially addressed this matter but it looks like the chances of the show returning are extremely low.

In an interview Greenblatt revealed, “It’s a show that we love, and we’re just trying to figure out what the future might be. We have a finite number of slots for shows, and we’re in that difficult place of trying to make that decision.”

Star Fionnula Flanagan also disclosed to EOnline, “We’re on hiatus, and we’re waiting to hear what Showtime’s pleasure is about that. It will all have to be balanced with what else Showtime has on its roster for this next year. Usually, the shooting season is in the summer, so I imagine that we’ll know soon.”

However, it appears that the show still stands canceled, and therefore, season 4 of Brotherhood is not on the cards.

Brotherhood Season 4: Plot

Plot details are not known and we’ll never get to know because the Brotherhood series has come to an end.

As of June 2022, the series still stands canceled, and at this point, we can only say that Brotherhood is not returning with season 4 because Showtime has officially confirmed its cancellation. The series is over for good. The third season was the final season of the show.
