Shining Vale season 2: Release date, Cast, and Plot

Starz comedy horror “Shining Vale” conceived  by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan has officially announced a second run.

The first season debuted on March 6, 2022, and ever since it ended enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting the next season and they couldn’t be more delighted upon learning the great news! Without further ado, let’s go on with the deets.

Will there be a season 2 of Shining Vale?

Starz has greenlit the popular new series “Shining Vale” for a second installment.

“Shining Vale is both wickedly funny and a beautiful three-dimensional portrayal of marriage, adolescent parenting, and motherhood,” said Kathryn Busby, Head of Original Programming, Starz. “We’re thrilled to bring viewers another season of this mic dropping blend of horror and comedy.”

How many will be there in Season 2 of Shining Vale?

The second season is confirmed to consist of eight episodes just like the first season which ended on April 17, 2022.

When is Shining Vale Season 2 Releasing?

A second season has been already confirmed but as of now, an official release date has yet to be announced. Due to lack of information, it’s difficult to predict a specific time frame as the showrunners haven’t provided any updates on the production schedules.

Nevertheless, we assume that the anticipated second part will arrive in early 2023. The renewal announcement came not too long ago but hopefully, we’ll get more information when the production for the show begins.

The Cast of Shining Vale Season 2

Except for the main characters, it’s not confirmed if the other cast members who appeared in the first season will return in the upcoming second part but we highly expect them to reprise their roles including–

  • Courteney Cox in the role of Patricia “Pat” Phelps

  • Greg Kinnear will be back as Terry Phelps

  • Gus Birney will return as Gaynor Phelps

  • Dylan Gage will be seen playing as Jake Phelps

Shining Vale Season 2 Plot: What to expect?

Plot details are scarce but surely, the story would be picked up from where it was left off.

“Sharon and I are thrilled to be able to tell the next eight chapters of the Phelps’ story– especially after the way we ended season one,” said Jeff Astrof, series co-creator, executive producer and showrunner. “Personally, I look forward to the crushing pressure of trying to raise the bar even further in season two. But we can do anything. After all, ‘We Are Phelps!’”

In the first season finale, Rosemary (Mira Sorvino) took custody of Pat’s (Courtney Cox) body and ran after Terry (Greg Kinnear) throughout the compartment, knocking him down the steps. Pat, who had consumed pills earlier fainted, when she woke up she found herself on a stretcher at the Shining Vale mental hospital.

Because the first season ended on a cliffhanger, season 2 will most likely resolve this matter, and Pat will attempt to flee from the Shining Vale hospital.
