Shia LaBeouf, Talia Shire and more join the star Cast of Megalopolis

Francis Ford Coppola is wrapping the final cast list of his forthcoming big-budget supreme feature “Megalopolis” with his sister Talia Shire, Shia LaBeouf, and his nephew Jason Schwartzmann.


“Megalopolis is the saga of an architect who dreams of building the city of the future, hoping to enable people to live in an utopia where people only do the work they love to do” Thus, Utopia is something people have long sought. The Megalopolis is going to depict the story of a political ambition, intellectual and ambivalent love, the destiny of Rome persecuting a new world incapable of unraveling its own colonial problems. Coppola will direct the unassisted produced film from his own script, at a budget just south of $100 million, with production set to kick off this fall. 


The casting for the roles keeps on increasing and for the director Francis Ford Coppola’s upcoming project Megalopolis cast list grows steadily bigger as various well-known actors have lately entered the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 


Coppola’s sister Talia Shire, who formerly worked together with the filmmaker on “The Godfather trilogy as the character Connie Corleone”, is selected as the cast members in the film with her son Jason Schwartzman, whom we saw in Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.


With Talia Shire, Shia LaBeouf, who recently composed and starred in Honey Boy, is also joining the cast of the film. In addition, Grace Vanderwaal (Stargirl), Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth), and James Remar, who is furthermore set to work in upcoming series.  


Francis Ford Coppola officially announced that Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, and Talia Shire are going to be the cast of his upcoming film Megalopolis. As we know, the veteran director is recognized for making movies like the Godfather trilogy and the Vietnam war drama Apocalypse Now. 


Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne and Aubrey Plaza, Grace VanderWaal, Kathryn Hunter, and James Remar will also be added in the cast list as per Hollywood Reporter. The film is self-financed by the director and the budget of the film is going to be around 100 million dollars. Talia Shire formerly worked with the director on the Godfather trilogy, so we know what they can do tougher. We all are waiting for the masterpiece!


According to the director, the movie is a modern drama where “The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and conflicted love.”


The release date of the film is yet to be revealed by the makers, they are yet to reveal all the details regarding the release protocols for the film. The production for the movie will surely  begin towards the end of the year as per the schedule and after casting and pre-production work have been completed by the end of 2023.
