Puss in Boots is a spin-off of the Shrek franchise which first premiered in 2011. It was a box office hit collecting over $554 million worldwide. The film was directed by Chris Miller and produced by DreamWorks Animation. Its distributor is Paramount Pictures. It stars Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Billy Bob Thornton, Amy Sedaris and Zach Galifianakis. 

It’s already been a decade since Puss in Boots first appeared in Shrek 2 which was released in 2004 followed by the spin-off in 2011. This film is based on a storybook of the exact title. It follows a cat who goes by the name Puss in Boots. He was known by this name because of his infamous signature boots. This cat has a strong sense of justice who wants to fend off criminals along with his friends.

Puss in Boots 2 is officially titled “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” and it is very much confirmed. The forthcoming film will be helmed by Joel Crawford and penned by Christopher Melandri alongside Chris Miller and produced by Mark Swift.

Puss in Boots 2 Release Date: When is Puss in Boots 2 arriving on the big screens?

Fans who have waited for years to get another movie of Puss in Boots can now let out a sigh of relief because the wait is finally over. 

Universal Pictures shared this great piece of news that a sequel is on the horizon back in March 2021. It was also revealed that Dreamworks must have been busy working on the upcoming sequel as Universal was confident enough to share the official release date of “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.” The upcoming sequel is slated to hit the theatres on September 23, 2022.

Puss in Boots 2 Plot: What to expect from the story? 

Plot details are not revealed yet and so it is unknown for now. But we do know for sure that the upcoming sequel will be an interesting one with so many fun-filled adventures and a little bit of action. Given that Puss in Boots is making a return after a decade makes our expectations are even higher.

 

It’s also extremely difficult to predict what will happen in the upcoming story but it’s guaranteed that the main focus will be on Puss in Boots, the cat. Fans should also expect to see some twists and turns as the cat who possessed nine lives has already burned eight of them and has only one life remaining.
