A second season of Only Murders in the Building is officially happening. Hulu renewed the series for another season in September 2021, which means fans will get to see more of their favorite trio Charles, Mabel, and Oliver investigate a series of mysteries in the next season.
“Everyone in our amazing Building worked with such love and expertise through extraordinary times — and with incredible support from Disney, Hulu, and 20th TV — to create a first season that might live up to our legendary cast, our beloved New York City, and to make a show about connection,” stated showrunner John Hoffman. “To feel we’ve connected with our audience and hit the mark enough already to have the chance to continue — and to carry on our show’s wild ride of mystery-comedy-empathy — is too exciting for words. So I’ll shut up now, and just say a huge thanks to all and I can’t wait for more.”
As per Hulu’s official podcast, season 2 will pursue a new mystery.
“What we’re doing right now is we’re working on season 2. So it’s all about breaking the overall arc of the season; what our mystery’s going to be, who our suspect’s going to be,” show writer Kirker Butler explained on episode two of the podcast, “Who Is Tim Kono?”

Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Release Date: When Is It?
Filming for season 2 of OMITB commenced back in December 2021, but actress/singer Selena Gomez disclosed that the much-awaited second season is set to arrive on June 28, 2022, in a short promo video posted on Instagram.
The Cast Of Only Murders in the Building: Who’s In It?
The series won’t be the same without the dynamic trio: Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. They are highly expected to return as Charles, Oliver, and Mabel respectively. Joining them are: Tina Fey as Cinda Canning, Jane Lynch as Sazz Pataki, and Sting as himself.
Additionally, a few newcomers who are joining in the next season are: Cara Delevingne who will play Alice and Michael Rapaport, Amy Schumer, and Shirley MacLaine in unconfirmed roles. It’s also been speculated that Paul Rudd has also joined the cast however, nothing is confirmed for now.
