New Amsterdam is an American medical drama TV series that debuted on September 25, 2018. Created by David Schulner, the series is based on the book, Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer. It encompasses Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, and Tyler Labine as the star cast.
New Amsterdam revolves around the life of a doctor named Dr. Max Goodwin, a medical director of one of the oldest public hospitals in the US. He aims to furnish top-notch facilities to his patients so that they can recover with ease in a short duration.
Due to its immense popularity, NBC renewed the series for its second season in February 2019, which was released on 24 September 2019. Later, in January 2020, the series got renewed for three more seasons. The fourth season aired on September 21, 2021.

As of now, NBC has not announced the date of release of New Amsterdam season 5. However, the series was renewed for the fifth season in January 2020. Thus, there will undoubtedly be the fifth edition of this impeccable series!
Furthermore, EW has claimed, “NBC’s medical drama New Amsterdam will end with its previously announced fifth season, and the final season will clock in at 13 episodes, marking the shortest one for the show.” As per some sources, we can expect New Amsterdam Season 5 in late 2022 on NBC.
