My Kitchen Rules is an Australian challenging cooking game series that has aired since 2010 on the Seven Network. The series was created by the same team that created the Seven reality show My Restaurant Rules, and it was inspired by the success of Network Ten’s MasterChef Australia.

 Release date for My Kitchen Rules 2022?

The new My Kitchen Rules will not kick off the year for Seven in the same way that the last series did. It’s pointless to compete with Married at First Sight. While there has been no word on when it will be released, expect it around the second half of 2022. Certainly after MasterChef Australia wraps off at 10 p.m.

The series was plagued by low ratings and rumours that it might be cancelled after a year-long break. The popular culinary show, on the other hand, is expected to revert to “its original recipe” in the New Year.

On Monday morning, Channel 7 revealed that long-time MKR star Manu Feildel will return as a judge in a sneak peek teaser for season 12.

The fans are really excited to see Manu Feildel return to My Kitchen Rules as a judge. This French-born chef will indeed be joined at the table by another mystery judge billed as one of the “world’s biggest food stars.”

The promo purports to give away the mystery judge’s identity by showing a woman entering a car sporting a red dress and accompanying red high heels.

Following two years of declining ratings in 2019 and 2020, the show will abandon the dramatics and revert to its “basic recipe.”

“It’s state versus state as the beloved competition goes back to its original recipe – real people cooking real food, in their own homes, serving love on a plate to the judges and their fellow contestants,” Channel 7 said in a statement.

 What has happened to My Kitchen Rules?

After a decade of hearty home cooked meals, My Kitchen Rules was axed after the 11th season.

The series’ low ratings were caused by being matched against juggernauts such as Married at First Sight. The firing also happened to coincide with the Seven Network’s decision to fire long-time co-host Pete Evans.

The celebrity chef was fired after receiving repeated criticism for his biased opinions and recommendations to fans.

However, fans need not be dismayed as Seven chose not to renew the cooking show for a twelfth season at their yearly upfronts in October 2020, but indicated that the show may be back shortly. The other good news is that things may be going just as predicted for the show because, during Seven’s annual upfronts, the cooking series was ascertained to come back with a new season sometime in 2022. Back in December 2021, Manu Feildel was declared to be returning for the new season to serve as a judge, a second judge is yet to be announced.
