Marthe Keller might join the Cast of ‘One Life’ A WWII drama

Marthe Keller is a multitalented Swiss actress/opera director. She is possibly well recognized for her performance in the Golden Award nominated movie “Marathon Man” (1976).

As far as reports from various outlets go, there’s been no indication or official announcement about Keller joining the cast of the upcoming biopic film “One Life.”  On the Wikipedia of the film itself, the cast members mentioned are Anthony Hopkins, Johnny Flynn, Helena Bonham Carter, Lena Olin, Jonathan Pryce, Romola Garai, and Alex Sharp. Maybe her name wasn’t mentioned as she only has a small role to play or we can never know as there is not enough information as of now.

James Hawes is set to direct “One Life.”  This will mark his film’s directorial debut. The film follows the inspiring actual tale of Sir Nicholas Winton or simply Nicky, whose unacknowledged attempts on the eve of the 2nd World War rescued over 600 children from their ruination at the hands of the ruthless Nazis. Winton deemed himself a banker and not a humanitarian. Nonetheless, in 1938, when he visited a previously annexed Prague and witnessed the state of the runaway Jewish refugees, he did what he thought was the good thing to do. The thing that most of us would do. War was looming, and time was running out. So before the time runs out, how many children can he set free?

In 1988, five decades later, Winton is tormented by the fate of the children that he didn’t manage to save. But it’s not until he found out on live television from the survivors that he can accept that when encountering overwhelming horrors, helping even one life means a lot, and the British people came to know the truth about the hero concealed in their midst.

The story of Winton had gone viral when a clip on YouTube showed an episode of the BBC’s ‘That’s Life’ from 1988. The special episode was hosted by Esther Rantzen featuring Winton. During the program, Rantzen asked, ”Is there anyone in our audience who owes their life to Nicholas Winton? If so, could you stand up please?” Every single one in the studio stood and the special episode has been watched on the platform several millions of times.

“One Life” based on “If It’s Not Impossible…The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton,” written by his daughter Barbara Winton. The script has been co-penned by Lucinda Coxon (”The Danish Girl”) and Nick Drake (”Romulus, My Father”).

Joanna Laurie, Iain Canning,  and Emile Sherman on behalf of See-Saw Films are serving as producers with Guy Heeley.
