Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher to star in ‘The Summer I turned Pretty Season 2’

Amazon Prime Video’s hit romance series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” season 2 is on its way, and we’re excited to learn that two new faces have joint the cast. Amazon officially declared openly that Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher are all set to appear in recurring roles for the upcoming season. However, details of their characters are not revealed as of yet. 

 

According to Amazon Prime’s official synopsis, the series is focused on a three-way love affair between “one girl and two brothers, the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children, and the enduring power of strong female friendships. It is a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer.” 

 

The series stars Lola Tung (as Isabel “Belly” Conklin), Jackie Chung (as Laurel Park), Rachel Blanchard (as Susannah Fisher), Christopher Briney (as Conrad Fisher), Gavin Casalegno (as Jeremiah Fisher), Sean Kaufman (as Steven Conklin), Alfredo Narciso (as Cleveland Castillo), Minnie Mills (as Shayla), Colin Ferguson (as John Conklin), and Tom Everett Scott (as Adam Fisher),

 

Actress Kyra Sedgwick is an Emmy-Golden Globe winner popularly known for her role in the drama series “The Closer,” on which Sedgwick appeared for seven seasons. The actress has also appeared in many films such as “Phenomenon” (1996), “Born on the Fourth of July” (1989), “Something to Talk About” (1995), and “The Road Within” (2014) to name a few.

As for Elsie Fisher, the actress previously appeared in HBO’s third season of “Barry.” Fisher also stars in “My Best Friend’s Exorcism,” which premieres on September 30, 2022. She also voiced in all of “Despicable Me” movies also in “Masha and the Bear”, and “The Addams Family.” Her most critically applauded movie “Eighth Grade” and Netflix’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Fisher also recently finished filming on “Memory” and the forthcoming movie “Lucky Man.”

In a declaration reported by Variety at the time, showrunner Jenny Han states she understood they would require more seasons to narrate the tale.

 

“To receive a second season pickup ahead of the premiere of Season One is beyond my wildest dreams,” Han explained at the time. “I am so grateful to Amazon Studios for this amazing vote of confidence in our show, and cannot wait to bring our incredible team back together to tell the next chapter in our story.”

 

Vernon Sanders, boss of global television at Amazon Studios also told the outlet, “We look forward to our Prime Video customers returning to Cousins Beach with Jenny Han and her characters as they continue their coming-of-age journeys for another season.”
