Kantai Collection or Kantai Korekushon in Japanese or simply KanColle is a free-to-play web browser game constructed by Kadokawa Games and distributed by DMM.com from Japan.
The game was first dispatched on April 23, 2013. It is being said that starting from April 2015, the game is functional only in Japan and has millions of enlisted players. In 2016, an Android version of the original game was launched. The game has expanded into a wider media franchise; several media comprising numerous manga series and LN (Light Novels) have been published, to a formally authorized tabletop role-playing game.
In February 2016, a PS version called the Vita game was launched and an anime TV series broadcasted its first-ever season from January- March 2015. An animated movie was also launched in November 2016 and in 2019, a second season was confirmed.
As of now, there is no concrete update concerning the Kantai Collection season 2 but we do know that it is being produced by ENGI. So here’s what we know regarding Kantai Collection Season 2.
Kantai Collection Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?
Kantai Collection or KanColle is a Japanese anime series created by Diomedea, inspired by a game of the exact title by Kadokawa Games. The first season of Kantai Collection began airing on January 8 and ended on March 6, 2015, comprising 12 episodes.
The second season of Kantai Collection was officially confirmed back in 2015, not long after the first season aired. Though it’s been a while since there has been any update concerning the much anticipated Kantai Collection Season 2, however just recently, C2 Kikan provided a minor update, disclosing that the release date of the second season of Kantai Collection is scheduled for a 2022 release. Except for that, no specific date or any major details was announced whatsoever.
Who are the upcoming central characters in season 2 of the Kantai Collection?

The plot of Kantai Collection Season 2: What will be the story?
Plot details of Kantai Collection’s second season have been kept under wraps and it’s yet to be formally confirmed, several months ago some online sources posted a leaked trailer on MyAnimeList which by the way has been taken down. As a reference to the leaker trailer, the second season will concentrate on the Nishimura Fleet as a vital component alongside the destroyer Shigure as the main core. Wherein, Vice Admiral Shoji Nishimura was a naval officer in real life which means the Nishimura Fleet in KanColle is inspired by his squadron of ships.
Moreover, the real-life events of World War II at Surigao Strait are supposedly going to be showcased in the plot of the second season as per the since-deleted teaser shared on the website MyAnimeList.
Furthermore, it’s a well-known fact that the Kantai Collection isn’t recognized for its devotedness to historical elements. Co-author Jonathan Gad cited that the series central characters triumph the Battle of Midway, which signified a complete victory for the US troop in the real-life battle of World War II. So in short, the Nishimura fleet is likewise a favorite to win the Surigao Strait, which is way different in the history of the real world.
While details are unknown about the production of the series, it’s expected that more updates specifically about the plot of Kantai Collection Season 2 will soon emerge before its release in 2022.
