Original Japanese anime television series ‘Joran: The Princess of Snow & Blood’ is rumored to make a comeback with the second season although it’s unclear when the anime series will return.
The series is animated by Bakken record and produced by Bushiroad. The clever plot intrigued the audience with its charm and meticulously showcases an original period fantasy action anime. Here is everything about the new release.
Joran: The Princess of Snow & Blood Season 2– Release Date
Season one of the anime series was aired from April to June. Season one premiered on March 31, 2021, on various streaming sites. Season 1 concluded with 12 episodes on June 16, 2021. The season1 episodes were telecasted first on Japanese tv and a week later was made available on the digital platform.
Until now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the release of season 2. However, seeing the massive positive response received from the viewers, expectations are that a season 2 would happen. Although the fans have to wait till an official confirmation is received. As per sources, a manga series inspired by the anime is set to be released sooner. If a sequel of the series is made, then it is likely to be released by 2024.

Season 1 of the anime featured Suzuko Minon voicing Sawa Yuki Yukimura, Elena Hana Hanakaze voiced by Rachell, Makoto Tsuki Tsukishiro voiced by Shouta Aoi, Asahi Nakamura voiced by Ayasa Ito, and Jin Kuzuhara voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi, Rinko Tamichi voiced by Atsumi Tanizaki, and Janome voiced by Shunsuke Sakuya.
If season 2 is made, then expectations are that the same cast would make a comeback. It is also likely that the same voiceover artists would also be joining the team.
Joran: The Princess of Snow & Blood Season two– Plot
Season one of the anime was set in the 64th year of the Meiji era in Japa. The story revolved around the shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu who ruled Japan for a year. Japan discovered the dragon vein, a unique energy source that allowed the country to become technically advanced. Despite the achievement, the government is threatened by Kuchinawa, who aim to overthrow Shogunate.
In response, the government creates a secret police organization that is dedicated to rooting out kuchinawa. Yukimura is orphaned when the allies of the Shogunate kill her family to get blue blood that allows humans to change into demonic beasts. To seek to avenge, Yukimura willingly becomes an assassin for the police organization. Season 2 is most likely to revolve around the story of Asahi, who bounds with Sawa’s white crow and Elena’s daughter Satsuki. Season 2 would showcase the fall of the Yoshinobu Shogunate and the corruption prevailing in the government. The government members would likely try to seek the changelings to attain power and long life just like what Shogunate did. Asahi would be seen embarking on a new journey to find and protect others like her.
