Hunter x Hunter is a popular Japanese manga series penned and designed by Yoshihiro Togashi. In March 1998, it was realized in Shueisha’s weekly shonen jump although the manga was stopped and resumed in between a lot of times since 2006. The manga has so far been published in about thirty six tankobon volumes as recorded in October 2018.
The story revolves around a twelve-year-old named Gon Freecss who finds out that his father is still alive and has become a renowned hunter. Upon learning this, Gon sets out on an adventure in hopes to find his father and takes the hunter examination to become a hunter himself and ultimately meets his father. During Gon’s explorations, he meets various people who team up with him and faces the paranormal occurrences.
In 1999, the Hunter x Hunter anime adaptation began that contained a list of sixty episodes and concluded in March 2001. Three OVAs consisting of thirty episodes were generated by Nippon Animation and launched in Japan from 2002 to 2004. In July 2011, a new adaptation of Hunter x Hunter anime was announced. Instead of resuming the adventure from the OVA series, it commences the tale from the very beginning of the manga in order to adapt the story more precisely. The 2011 anime was helmed by Hiroshi Kojina with Madhouse as its producer and penned by Atsushi Maekawa, and the characters were neatly illustrated by Takahuro Yoshimatsu. The anime series was launched on October 2, 2011, and ended on September 24, 2014.
It’s also worth mentioning that Hunter x Hunter has been a massive success and is one of Shueisha’s best-selling manga series and has sold over 79 million copies in distribution.

The Release Date of Hunter x Hunter Season 7: When will it air?
We’re not sure if the seventh season of Hunter x Hunter is in the works but the fact that we haven’t heard a single word from the makers for years confirms that the long-awaited season 7 is definitely not happening anytime soon. Needless to say, Yoshihiko Togashi the author of the manga series went on a long hiatus due to his health issues but it was reported that he is back to work on new chapters. However, fans need not hold their hopes too high as nothing has been confirmed concerning the seventh season.
On the other hand, we do think that Hunter x Hunter will eventually return someday although we don’t exactly know when. It might come out next year or maybe in a few years. The earliest we can think of for the anime to arrive is sometime in 2023. Hopefully, the makers provide some sort of an update as soon as possible as many hungry fans are starving for a new season.

What Would be the Storyline of Hunter x Hunter Season 7?
As of now, nothing is known as it all depends on the creators to bring back Hunter x Hunter. But we do know that fans were disappointed with the ending of the last anime finale as the four central characters all went their separate ways.
Nonetheless, if Season 7 of Hunter x Hunter is ever published, it would be the final chapter in the tale of Gon Freecss. As per Comic Book, Togashi revealed in 2018, “I need to finish writing ‘Hunter x Hunter.’ It has come to the point where either the story concludes first, or I die before that happens. But I do intend to finish it.” However, the author did not mention anything about season 7 except that he intends to complete the manga but we do hope that once the manga finishes, it will be adapted into anime. So fingers crossed.
