In 2019, Facebook added more new shows so more people can view them. One of them is an animated show called “Human Discoveries,” it is an animated comedy show that takes us back to the early stages of civilization. This show is being co-produced by ShadowMachine and Ninjas Runnin’ Wild, and conceived by Chris Bruno and David Howard Lee.
The series features the voices of some of the talented actors in the Hollywood industry like Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick, Lamorne Morris, Jillian Bell, Paul Scheer, and Lisa Kudrow. In the show “Human Discoveries” Efron and Kendrick are the voices behind the two main characters Gary and Jane. Both of them have experience working as voice artists in the past.

What is the show about?
The synopsis as per IMDb says: “A group of friends living at the dawn of human civilization are the first to discover necessities like fire and the wheel. We’ll watch as they stumble onto humanity’s best, and worst, innovations. Art. Alcohol. Fashion. Racism. Small talk. And, much to their confusion, monogamy.”
Will there be a Season 2 of Human Discoveries?
Unfortunately, we haven’t heard any sort of official word from the producers about whether or not Human Discoveries will be back with a second season. To put it, the show has not been renewed yet despite its success and it’s been three years since the first season came out. At this point, we have no idea what’s going on in the minds of the producers.
Matthew Henick, the boss of planning and strategy for content at Facebook, explains, “Investing in content that leads to meaningful interactions is at the heart of our strategy.” He further added, “Shows like ‘The Real World’ and ‘Human Discoveries‘ have the potential to be talked about and immersive. Their ideas make it possible to use Facebook’s social network in new and interesting ways.”
Although there has been no concrete update about season 2, we’re confident that the show will be back at some point. Till then wait for official updates.
Human Discoveries Season 2 Release Date
The first season of “Human Discoveries” was released on Facebook Watch on July 16, 2019. It was released as a portion of the video-on-demand streaming service venture to build original content that amasses a fan base through interactive social aspects like Groups and Watch Parties.
Although the growth of the service itself is a tad bit slow, we are certain that it will quickly become big enough to contend with popular streaming houses like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon.
And as previously mentioned, Human Discoveries has not been yet renewed for a second installment. So far nothing is known if a new season will even happen or not. However, given the massive success of the first season, the possibility of Facebook returning with another season is very high. So if we have to predict an air date given Facebook bestows the green signal for a second season, fans can expect to see the new episodes somewhere between mid or late 2023 at the earliest.
