What is a potential Release date for gone Girl 2?

There is no definite release window for Gone Girl 2 as of now. And fans might not see it for a few more years since the cast and crew are involved in several different projects and bringing them together for the sequel may be challenging. But the lead cast is keen to be part of Gone Girl 2 if it ever happens. That gives us a little hope for the second outing.

So, while we wait for more specifics about when would Gone Girl 2 get a theatrical release, let’s revisit Gone Girl which is currently available for viewing on Netflix.

Gone Girl’s Plot sets up a stage for a potential sequel

Gone Girl follows the story of Amy and Nick Dunnes who face the repercussions of recessions and move to Missouri (Nick’s hometown) from New York. Amy is not particularly thrilled with Nick’s this decision. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when Amy goes missing on their 5th wedding anniversary. And the evidence hint that Nick has murdered his wife, but the truth is shocking and rather terrifying. As Amy has discovered about his husband’s affair with his student, she has staged her fake death to avenge him. But Amy returns home after slaying his former boyfriend, Desi Collins who helped her in hiding. In the end, the psychopath’s wife confesses that she is up in the duff that forces Nick to stay with her. The reality is that Army has undergone artificial insemination, which makes it hard for Nick to walk away.

Gillian Flynn, who wrote the screenplay said in a previous interview that perhaps a sequel would take Dunnes a few years down the road. With that, we expect to see the couple at a little later stage in their lives with their teenage child. The story makes sense since the central characters might not just be ready right now to take up the older version of themselves. Nonetheless, Flynn has not written either any book or screenplay to take this forward. Yet hoping that Flynn has plans to surprise audiences with Gone Girl 2. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

The Cast Information of Gone Girl 2

Although we are overly optimistic at this moment about a sequel to Gone Girl, revealing the exact casting details will be a little too much. Having said that, it is not possible to think of the sequel without Ben Affleck who plays Nick Dunnes, and Rosamund Pike as Amy Elliot Dunne. Also, it will be delightful to see another great collaboration between Flinch and Flynn. The former is known for not working on the sequel for his work. If Flinch does not agree to a follow-up, there is no possibility of Gone Girl’s return.

But, its cult following is a testimonial that the movie is anything but forgotten. We shall keep you posted as and when more information becomes available about Gone Girl two.
