Flower Of Evil is a South Korean melodrama suspense series that amassed a huge fan following upon its release. The popular drama series aired from July to September 2020. It stars Lee Joon-gi, Moon Chae-won, Jang Hee-jin, and Seo Hyun-woo. The series is directed by Kim Cheol-kyu and penned by Yoo Jung-hee.
Nevertheless, the possibility of a second season is exceptionally low due to the scarcity of official announcements from the show makers. We were earlier definite that the drama series would be back for a second run in mid-2021, but so far there’s been no update about the second season’s release and this made fans question whether or not the series is returning with Flower of Evil season 2. Here’s what we know about it.
Will there be a Season 2 of Flower of Evil?
As of June 2022, the series has not been renewed or canceled yet. But the lack of information indicates that perhaps the show is discontinued. Several media outlets speculated that show makers are planning to return with another season. Back in 2020, it was highly expected that the hit drama would be out by Spring 2021. It appeared to be just another baseless rumor as season 2 still hasn’t been released yet and till now we haven’t heard a single word from the producers regarding this matter.
Flower of Evil Season 2 Release Date
This hugely popular drama series was launched on July 23, 2020, and ended on September 23, 2020, consisting of 16 episodes in total.
As of now, there’s no concrete news concerning the second season of Flower of Evil. Therefore, it is extremely hard to predict an air date and even more so, it’s uncertain whether the series will even return with a second season considering the lack of information. However, if renewed fans can expect the new season to be out sometime in 2023.

Flower of Evil Season 2 Plot: Expected storyline
Plot details for season 2 of Flower of Evil are not known. Previously, in an interview with actor Lee Joon-gi(via Tumblr), he was asked about his thoughts on the finale of the drama series and what the ending means to him.
“When I look back and reflect on it [later], I will definitely find something I feel regretful about, but now, I am very satisfied with the ending as it is. I felt like the ending – in which the new life of Do Hyunsoo has begun and gets accepted – is a process whereby the most painful petals of his life have fallen off and another beautiful bud has started to grow. I think it was a great ending,” he added.
“In those two years when I was taking a break, I had a lot of worries. Each time I get an offer, I always wonder, ‘Am I an actor that’s capable enough to convey the message and the depth this project is trying to convey?’ Of course, worrying can be also motivating. I am just truly grateful that Flower of Evil got so much love from so many people and turned out so well, putting to rest all those worries I had. In fact, even after I finished the project, I still wonder: ‘Did I really do a good job [of conveying the message, etc. of the drama]?’ One thing I’m sure of is that this drama gave me the opportunity to broaden my horizons. No matter what project I work on, I’m always left with things I find valuable, and the whole process makes me feel happy. Above all, I am grateful that I made great memories with great people and that I made a great drama with them.”
The actor continued: “In the finale of Flower of Evil, Do Hyunsoo loses his memory and doesn’t get it back. But it ends by showing Hyunsoo trying to live again with Jiwon and their daughter Eunha. To Hyunsoo, Lee Joongi sends this message: “Hyunsoo, I hope you live this new life you just found and love Jiwon as much as you want, for you’re the only one for her and she loves you so much. Cherish her and love her so much so she can forget the hurt you caused her. Same goes for Eunha. I truly hope you’re happy.”
With that said, it looks like the story has a clean ending with no strings attached and we doubt that a second season will be renewed.
