Everything’s Trash Season 2: To be Renewed? Updates to know

Created, executive produced by Phoebe Robinson, “Everything’s Trash” is an American comedy TV series that aired on Freeform onJuly 13, 2022.

In the series, Robinson portrays the role of a podcaster named Phoebe who is in her 30s experiencing what adulting is. Both her personal and professional lives revolve around her friends, her coworkers, and her older brother, Jaden who is married and seems to be more than perfect is running a political campaign in Brooklyn, compelling her to begin her adulting journey.

“I think one of the things that Jonathan Groff [series executive producer] and I really set out with this show was that we wanted to show that all different kinds of adulthood are valid,” Robinson described. “And so you have the brother character who’s married, has a kid, has an apartment. And you have Phoebe, having this burgeoning podcast career, but still trying to sort of put the pieces together financially in other ways, and [we] wanted to show that every path is valid and worthy, and that sort of you don’t ever complete adulthood — you’re always still having to figure things out. You’re always being thrown different curveballs.”

Many fans are wondering whether the comedy series will be back for another season. Well, here’s what we know.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Everything Trash? Is it Renewed or Cancelled?

Robinson caught up on a phone call three days after wrapping the first season of Everything’s Trash. She talked about finding the comedy in local politics, sex positivity post-Roe and her love for U2. Excerpts from the conversation are below.

Just three days after the first season wrapped, Robinson got caught up in a conversation on the phone with Time Magazine. She was asked how she came to utilize the writer’s chamber for her series “Everything’s Trash” to set talent.

“Jonathan [showrunner] and I wanted to have a mix of experienced people and those on the greener side. Because what’s the point of doing this if you’re not going to help bring in new voices?

Robinson continued: “Ushering in new voices and new ideas has been one of the things that I’ve tried to advocate for across the board with my career. The majority of the books on my imprint are by debut authors. People are ready. They just need to be acknowledged and given the opportunity to show off the skills that they have.”

Although a second season has not been confirmed yet, Robinson is prepared should she get the chance. “We haven’t started talks yet, but I hope that people really respond to the show and really show it tons of love, because I am ready to do season two,” she said. “We have so many more stories that we can tell.”
