Den of Thieves 2: Everything you need to know

Christian Gudegast directed Den of Thieves is all set to return for a second flick. Den of Thieves is a crime thriller that centers around the story of Big Nick O’s Brien, a gritty detective of the Sherif department in Los Angeles, who is on a hunt to chase a gang of former militants, Outlaw, as the latter is planning a robbery in the Federal Reserve Bank. Starring Gerard Butler in the lead cast, Den of Thieves grossed 80$ million against a budget of 30$. With these figures, it is easy to understand the popularity of this action film. To the delight of the fans, the movie was signed off for a follow-up following its premiere in early 2018. Disappointingly, since then, there has been no significant development in this action film. Nevertheless, Gerard, also the producer of Den of Thieves has confirmed that Den of Thieves 2’s filming is going to commence soon. When is Den of Thieves 2 getting released? 

Den of Thieves 2 AKA Den of Thieves 2: Pantera has officially commenced filming in Spring and therefore, no official date of airing has been out yet. However, it’s been speculated that the upcoming sequel to be out sometime in 2023.

Hopefully, the flick will have a definite date for its worldwide theatrical release. Till then, you can take a trip to nostalgia and enjoy the action-packed performances of its first part on the world’s biggest streaming platform, Netflix. 

What is Den of Thieves Season two about? 

Bits and pieces of plot details have been revealed as per the official reading “Butler returns as Big Nick (Butler), this time on the hunt in Europe for Donnie (Jackson Jr.) who is embroiled in the dangerous world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia as they plot a massive heist of the world’s biggest diamond exchange.”

Butler said in an interview that the follow-up to Den of Thieves will be more fun and sexy journey as compared to its predecessor. Without giving away much details about the upcoming film, the performer assured that the wait would be soon over for fans. 

Some speculations add that the second part of Den of thieves will continue the story with Big Nick hunting down Dorrie and the mafia of Panther, who are hatching a heist plot of a diamond exchange. Moreover, according to sources, Den of Thieves two will be inspired by the 2003 Antwerp diamond exchange heist. Movies based on real events are witnessing a surge in recent times. And if the non-fictional is combined with intense action, it is a visual treat to the fans. 

Part two would explore more of Europe as the shooting this time will cover the diamond district of Marseilles. So, are ready to witness never-before-seen-action in Den of Thieves 2?

Who is in the cast of  Den of Thieves 2?

Unfortunately, nothing is known about the cast of Den of Thieves two yet. But it is a safe bet to say that the star performer, Gerard Butler is going to return to its role as Big Nick. In part one of Den of Thieves, Gerard wowed the fans and critics with his power-packed performance.  So, his comeback is one of the things we are certain about. O’Shea Jackson Jr. will potentially reprise his role as Donnie Wilson, the robber on the run. In addition to these, 50 Cent will take on the role of Enson Levoux in the sequel as well. 

It is assumed that the cast will also have new additions since many of the characters died in the first part. Although there is no information about the add-ons currently, still they are crucial to lead the story in the right direction.
