Darwin’s Game Season 2: When Shall We Expect Season 2?

Darwin’s Game anime series is based on a Japanese manga series penned and illustrated by FLIPFLOPs. An anime series adaptation by Nexus aired from the manga began airing on January 3, 2020 and ended on March 20, 2020.

The story follows a high school student named Kaname Sudo who one day receives an online request from a friend to play a game on an app called Darwin’s Game. Little did he know that the game involves a battle between life and death. Players are provided a Sigil, a skill that varies from one player to another. The series quickly gained huge popularity after its debut and fans have since then been wondering if the studio plans to commission the series with another season run. Here’s what we know regarding the potential second season of Darwin’s Game.

When is Darwin’s Game Season 2 Premiering?

Sadly, there has been no news concerning a second season of the popular anime series. Studio Nexus has yet to confirm whether or not Darwin’s game will be greenlit for season 2. The series premiered on January 3, 2020, and in the same year, Netflix picked up the anime series, and has since been available for streaming on its platform. It has been a long wait for a new season but till now we haven’t heard a single word from the makers or the studio.

If Studio Nexus renews the series and production goes smoothly, it’s expected that new episodes will arrive sometime in 2023 at the earliest. In the coming days, we anticipate an official announcement about the potential upcoming season.

The Plot of Darwin’s Game Season 2: Expectations

Episode 11 of the first season ended on chapter 30 of volume 8.

The great news is there are enough source materials to make the second season. To cover the entire manga, the studio will require at least two more seasons which are seasons 2 & 3.

In the second season, it will focus on Kaname as he attempts to stop others from killing each other and influence them to drop the game. In the meantime, he is also looking for the game master who brought all these people in the game just to kill each other for his amusement. Will Kaname be successful or will the game master come up with something more twisted?

In case you can’t wait for season 2 of the anime series, you can go ahead and start reading from volume 8.
