Daddy’s Home 3: Release date, Cast, and Plot

Daddy’s Home is a comedy movie helmed by Sean Anders and narrated by Sean Anders. The story follows a well-mannered man, Brad Whitaker. He put on a great effort to adjust to the family of his spouse named Sara and her kids. As a step-dad, Brad attempts to do the best he can to be a good fatherly figure. The children gradually get close to Brad. Soon afterwards, the kid’s biological dad visits them and the story progresses. Brad gets nervous about the kid’s dad’s existence and he slowly starts to fear that he might lose everything. But eventually, they get closer and become pals and co-parent the kids.

The movie features Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, and Will Ferrell, who also serves as a producer along with Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, and John Morris. The first movie of Daddy’s home which premiered on December 25, 2015, was a box office hit and gained a whopping $242.8 million. The second movie released on November 10, 2017, earned $180.6 million at the box office.

It’s been five long years since the release of Daddy’s Home 2 and fans are eagerly waiting in anticipation for a third movie but will the fans get to another movie? Let’s find out more in detail below regarding the third movie of Daddy’s Home.

Is Daddy’s Home 3 renewed or cancelled?

As of now, Daddy’s Home 3 has not been renewed or cancelled. It’s not known if the movie will return with a third movie but the makers seemed enthusiastic about making a new movie. However, not a single word has been provided till now and it could be that the covid-19 pandemic caused a major delay in progressing a new script.

In terms of rating, Daddy’s Home earned 31 per cent from Rotten Tomatoes, while the sequel only received 21 per cent. We assume that the reason behind why there is no official word could be because of the poor ratings.

On the bright side, the movie comedy is well-crafted and showcases witty humour and fans are anxious to learn about the prospect of the Daddy’s Home franchise. Presently, we haven’t heard a single word from the cast or the director. What we can do now is to wait for official announcements.

Daddy’s Home 3 release date: When is it?

As we have mentioned earlier, there has been no official word or information about the third part of Daddy’s Home yet. It’s been quite a couple of years and Daddy’s Home 3 is not even in development or perhaps the filmmakers and the writers are secretly working on it. No one knows for sure yet. So at this point, it’s hard to tell if there’ll even be a new movie. Nevertheless, fans are urged not to lose hope because, given the success of the first and second movies, a threequel is very much anticipated.

Coming back to the release date, there is none. To put it, we’re not even sure about getting a new movie let alone expecting an air date. However, if they decide to return with the threequel fans can expect to see the new movie sometime in 2023 or may even go beyond that, or worst-case scenario, we might not even get a new film. Let’s wait and see how everything goes.

Daddy’s Home 3: What would it be about?

Not much is about the exact plot details but as per speculations, the makers have a new script ready. Director Sean Anders shared his ideas about the third movie. In an interview with Cinema Blend, he disclosed: “I think it would be kind of funny if when Mark and Will are old men that we get back together and we do Scarlet’s wedding.”

According to Sean’s idea, the third movie would probably witness Megan’s wedding and reunite Brad and Dusty. The plot will be much different compared to the previous movies but the story will resume with the family and lots of comedy involved.

Speaking to Metro, actor Mark Wahlberg revealed that it excites him to play as a grandpa. “I have not thought about that, but would love to be able to at some point play a grandfather”, the actor said. It seems like Mark is very much interested in playing the role of an aging man.
