Coyote season 2: Release date, Cast, and updates

Conceived by David Graziano alongside Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert, the series “Coyote” was launched on January 7, 2021, on CBS All Access. The series features Michael Chiklis.

Coyote was initially ruled as a ten-episode series for Paramount Network, but then it was shifted to CBS All Access. On March 4, 2020, the network CBS All Access had to be re-launched as Paramount plus.

The story follows Ben Clemens (Michael Chiklis), a retired Customs and Border Protection agent who now serves as a coyote for a Mexican drug dealer. The first season had many twists and turns as he changed sides for helping out a drug cartel, his new companions were cautious of him– and more so, it turned out to be true. With a major cliffhanger in season 1, fans are anxious to find out what would possibly happen in the next season. Let’s find out below:

Will there be a season 2 of Coyote?

Unfortunately, fans need to wait for a while since CBS has yet to greenlight whether the series will return for a second season or not.  When the first season was released, actor Michael Chiklis shared a post on his Twitter account on March 13, 2021, that said: “Can’t wait to get back to work” indicating working on season 2 of “Coyote” perhaps? Well, it could be any work as he didn’t mention working on Coyote but this simply doesn’t mean the series is canceled.

When is season 2 of Coyote releasing?

Because the show is not yet renewed, there is no update about season 2 of Coyote. Hence, the official release is not declared so far. CBS will decide whether the series is deserving to be back for a second run based on the viewership and ratings it secured from the first season.

However, if we have to make guesses the second season probably won’t be out until sometime in 2023.

How many episodes will season 2 of Coyote have?

Season 1 of Coyote consisted of six episodes. The list of episodes are–

  • Episode 1    “Call of the Void”

  • Episode 2    “Silver or Lead”

  • Episode 3 “Sin of Origin”

  • Episode 4 “Juan Doe”

  • Episode 5     “King Tide”

  • Episode 6 “Plaza De Nada”

So, if renewed for a second installment it will likely consist of six episodes or maybe more although has not been confirmed.

The cast of Coyote season 2

The cast members who appeared in the previous season are expected to reprise their roles in season 2 as well including–

  • Michael Chiklis in the role of Ben Clemens

  • Juan Pablo Raba will return as Juan Diego “El Catrin” Zamora

  • Adriana Paz will be back as Silvia Peña

  • Kristyan Ferrer in the character of Dante

  • Octavio Pisano will portray the role of Sultan

  • Cynthia Williams will play the character of a federal agent

  • Julio Cesar Cedillo will return as Neto Mendez

  • Emy Mena will be back as María Elena Flores

What can we expect from the storyline in season 2 of Coyote?

Currently, plot details are scant but we expect the story to continue from where it was left off in the first season meaning in season 2, Ben will most likely become an informant for the CIA and things will get more difficult for Ben especially when it comes to his survival.

Season 1 of Coyote is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
