Developed by Eliot Laurence, Claws is an American crime drama dark comedy television series that made its debut on Turner Network Television (TNT) on June 11 2017. The show is also available on Amazon Prime Video comprising a total of ten episodes which was initially created as a 30-minute single-cam comical show for the network HBO. The show takes place in Palmetto, Florida and almost half of its episodes were videographed in New Orleans.

The story revolves around five ladies who work as a professional nail artist at the Nail Artisans parlour of Manatee County, Florida infiltrating a world filled with only males of ordered crime when they start laundering cash at a nearby pain clinic and gradually climb their way up to governing the criminal estate. The series stars Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Judy Reyes, Karrueche Tran, Jenn Lyon, Jack Kesy, Kevin Rankin, Jason Antoon, Harold Perrineau, Dean Norris, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Suleka Mathew, and Evan Daigle.

Claws have produced four seasons so far consisting of an overall 40 list of episodes. In terms of ratings, it has a score of 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb and 88 per cent of those who use Google loved the show. Following the success of the first season, TNT renewed the series for a second season on July 12, 2017, which was released on June 10, 2018, consisting of ten episodes. In just nearly a month after the second season aired, TNT renewed the series for the third instalment on July 2, 2018, which was launched on June 9, 2019, with ten episodes. Later on October 1, 2019, TNT greenlit the series for a fourth and last season, which aired on December 19, 2021. So it’s clear that fans won’t get to see a fifth season of their favourite show Claws since the show has ended for good.

Release Date of Claws Season 5: When is it?

As mentioned previously, the fourth season was the final season and there won’t be the fifth season of Claws. The series finale episode is all set to air on February 6, 2022. The final season’s list of episodes are given below:

Why was the Fifth Season of Claws not Renewed?

There is no specific reason per se but we highly suspect that it has to do something with the show’s rating declining. It’s also a well-known fact that the Covid-19 pandemic badly affected the entertainment industry which saw a great decline in the rating and as a result, Claws aired its fourth and final outing of the series. The show stands cancelled as of January 2022 and we haven’t heard a single word from the showrunners about a fifth instalment’s renewal or air date. It’s reported that the fourth season will clear all storylines and wrap its last season satisfactorily. It looks like the showrunners have no interest in returning with another season. Hypothetically speaking, the prospect of the show remains highly uncertain but let’s still not lose hope.

It’s disappointing to learn that Claws was cancelled after the fourth season and what’s even more sad and disappointing is that we’ll no longer be able to see our favourite characters again but one can always watch the previous episodes or a different show with the same actors on it. Nevertheless, it’s time to wave goodbye to this show. Adieu!
