Centaurworld Season 3: Release date, Cast, Plot, and updates

Centaurworld is a popular American animated musical comedy-drama TV series developed by Megan Nicole Dong and written by Jen Bardekoff, Dominic Bisignano, Todd Casey, Aminder Dhaliwal, Megan Nicole Dong, Ryan Harer, Amalia Levari, Minty Lewis, and Meghan McCarthy. It is produced by Sketchshark Productions and Netflix Animation. The first was released on Netflix on July 30, 2021, and has a perfect approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

Describing about the character of Horse in an interview with Rolling Stone, creator Megan Nicole Dong explains that she “wanted to tell the story of a character that thought they were supposed be more serious, or came from a completely different trajectory, who wound up in this like, Muppety, singing, dancing, sparkly place. And in the end, that place and the characters she meets there transform her.”

She continued: When [Dominic Bisignano] came on board for the second episode, we co-wrote some songs together,” Dong says. “We got in a room, and we’re like, ‘This is going to be super awkward. But let’s do this bizarre musical trust fall.’ And it was really fun just getting in there and doing that. Then we split everything up, and we were recording demos in bathrooms and these, like, glass telephone booth pods that were around the studio. It was very, very collaborative.”

Following the huge success of the first season, the show returned with the second and final season which premiered on December 7, 2021. Although the show seems to be over, fans can’t get enough of this dreamy musical show. So can we still expect a third season? Here’s what we know about season 3 of Centaurworld.

Centaurworld Season 3 Release Date: When is it?

There’s no official air date announced for season 3 of Centaurworld because the show has come to an end. The first season aired on July 30, 2021, consisting of a total of 10 episodes. The second and final season aired on December 7, 2021, consisting of 8 episodes.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Dong was asked about her experience on Centaurworld which ended after two seasons.

“The only thing I’d add is just that I feel like the show is unique, like you said, and I feel like the process of making it was truly special or it was different than anything that I’d ever worked on before. I hope that there’s more content like it in that I hope that studios like Netflix continue to take chances on stuff that doesn’t quite fit into one box, because for our cast and crew, it was apparent that everyone was having a lot of fun. I think that kind of joy translated to some of what was put on-screen. So, yeah. I had a really great experience making the show.”

Centaurworld Season 3 Plot: What Would Have Happened?

The story of Horse and her friends Wammawink, Glendale, Durpleton, Ched, and Zulius may be over, but series creator Megan Nicole Dong expressed that she would be on board to do more if she gets the opportunity.

In a chat with Comicbook.com, Dong was asked if she would like to explore more to which she responded, “Honestly, it would’ve been nice and it would be nice if we ever got the chance to make more just to really explore more of the world, because there would be other lands and completely other groups of centaurs, like other communities throughout the world that I think would’ve been really fun to meet, I guess. It was fun getting into Season 2 and meeting the horsetaurs, the birdtaurs, and going up to the Arctic and meeting the colors, and meeting all these different communities, and seeing how they play off of the herd.”

It would have been nice to have a third season but sadly, the show will not be returning with another session. What are your thoughts? Would you have loved to see a third season? Let us know in the comments below.
