Executively produced by Ian Gelfandby for Netflix, “Buried by the Bernards” is a reality show that introduces the Bernards to the world documenting what takes place within their funeral home and fans are here for it. This reality show’s cast members comprise Kevin Miller, Debbie, Deja, Raegan, and Ryan Bernard.
Ryan is the owner of R. Bernard Funeral Services. Deja is the oldest daughter of Ryan and Raegan is the youngest daughter. Debbie is like the boss of the family who constantly keeps Ryan in check and Uncle Kevin is the overseer of the facilities.
“When you think of reality TV, you think of drama. We’re not like that,” the oldest daughter, Deja Bernard, explains to OprahMag.com of her family. “Even though it was a huge blessing to get this show, it doesn’t take away from us. We’re still the same loving Bernard family. When families come in, we’re still going to love you and cherish you. Nothing is going to change.”
Fans absolutely love this show and at this point, we can’t help but wonder whether Netflix will bring back the series for another season. Here’s what we know about season 2 of Buried by the Bernards.
Will There Be a Season 2 of Buried by the Bernards?
While a ton of families run funeral homes, it was the main idea of the Bernards that earned them a huge success. As per Commercial Appeal, it was reported in 2017 that R. Bernard Funeral Services was the first ever to establish a drive-thru alternative for their funerals. Visitors would drive up to the well-sealed window to glimpse the corpse at the funeral.
“I got the idea a couple of years back when I was out in California. It caught my attention. I thought it was neat and thought I could bring it back to Memphis and this area,” Ryan explained to the publication. “Being in Memphis, we are surrounded by a lot of big-name funeral homes that have been around for 100 years, so being the new kid on the block, so to speak, I needed something unique to make me stand apart. It helps out those that lack (physical) mobility, those who don’t feel like the hassle of parking cars and getting out, or those who are scared to come into a funeral home. A lot of funeral homes creep people out.”
As of now, it’s not known if the show will be back because the program has not been renewed yet for a second season but following the success of the first season, it’s likely that Netflix will greenlight Buried by the Bernards season 2.
Buried by the Bernards Season 2 Release Date
Discussing season two of the show, Ryan Bernard revealed that they had fun creating the first season but are not certain about season two yet.
Currently, there’s been no official statement concerning Buried by the Bernards season 2 from the giant streamer even though it’s been more than a year since season one came out. The first season aired on February 12, 2021. If the show gets renewed, it is expected that season two will on our TV screens sometime in 2023.
