The plot of the series revolved around the life of sakura asusagawa, who has a bad reputation for hospitalizing three people. His life turns around when he meets teen actress Mai Sakurajima. He encounters the actress in a library when she is dressed as a bunny girl to escape from the public eyes. Mai discovers that Sakuta is the only one who sees her as she is, even when she usually dresses.
Sakuta learns that Mai suffers from the phenomenon of Adolescence syndrome and decides to help her. In between this, he becomes closer to Mai and meets other girls suffering from the same phenomenon. The series is adapted from the light novel Seishun Buta Yarou series by Kamoshida Hajime. The novel has 11 volumes, out of which five are covered in the anime adaptation, while the movie covers the 6th and 7th volumes. This indicates that there is a vast scope for the renewal of the series. If the series is made, then season 2 would cover plots based on the 8th volume. The new season is expected to give more glimpses of Sakuta and Mai’s life. It would also reveal whether the two can find a cure for the syndrome or not.
