Bruce Davison and Rose Reid are probably to star in ‘The Futurist’

Bruce Davison and Rose Reid have been officially cast in the upcoming feature film ‘The Futurist.’ Currently, it’s not revealed how their characters will play out in the film but Davison will play Nikola Tesla and Rose portraying the role of Kennedy Fletcher. 


The plot summary of the film describes that after obtaining stimulation from an unknown source, an eighteen-year-old inventor named Miles Fletcher (Andrew Reid) finds out the hidden truth about harnessing endless energy. But when business sharks start to get involved, Miles’s determination to help the world was greatly threatened by money and power.


Rose Reid is perhaps widely recognized for her protagonist role in Roadside Attractions’ feature film, “Finding You,” starring alongside Vanessa Redgrave, Katherine McNamara, and Judith Hoag. Reid also previously appeared in numerous films including “The World We Make,” “Sweet, Sweet Summertime,” “I’m Not Ashamed,” and Lifetime’s “A Welcome Home Christmas” with Jana Kramer.


She marked her film debut in the 2016 film “I’m Not Ashamed” in which she portrayed the role of Kim. Keeping aside her acting profession, the actress is also an author. She penned her very first screenplay for a brief film when she was just 14 years of age and assisted to produce it at 16. The script for the film ‘’The World We Make’, is penned by Rose herself.


Bruce Allen Davison or simply Bruce Davison is an American actor/director. Davison is well recognized for his leading role as Willard Stiles in the 1971 cult horror film “Willard.” He also received his first Academy Award nomination and won the Golden Globe statuette for his outstanding performance in the 1989 film “Longtime Companion,” and as Thomas Semmes in the popular HBO original film “Vendetta.” The actor also appeared in the X-Men movie franchise including X-Men (2000) and X2 (2003) as the villain Senator Robert Kelly.


In the early 2010s, Davison was featured in Fred Schepisi’s direction “Words and Pictures” (2013), appeared as a recurring role on “The Fosters” (2015–2016) and featured alongside Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick in “Get a Job” (2016).


“The Futurist” is directed by Kali Bailey who also penned the scrip with Rose Reid. The movie is currently in production in Nashville, TN, USA. Serving as executive producers for the film are Ken Carpenter, Julian Reid, Joel Edwards, and Daniel Kiedis. 


The film is scheduled to be out sometime in 2023 although a specific release date is yet to be determined.
