Awake 2: Plot
The film follows the story of an ex-soldier Jill and her struggle during a chaotic time. In the story, the world is hit by a solar flare where every electronic device is malfunctioning. Jill’s daughter drowns in a lake and is saved by police, who take her to a hospital only to find coma patients awake. Later on the same night, Jill’s son mistakes falling satellites as shooting stars.
Jills find that not just her family but also her whole neighborhood is awake. The next day at work, Dr. Murphy explains that with no unconscious people, it means that no one would be able to sleep, which would make all suffer from sleep deprivation. Jill finds that her daughter Matilda can sleep between all this. Matilda, considered as a hope for the citizens, is taken to the church to be sacrificed. Jill and Noah reach in time to save Matilda from her death. The film moves ahead, showcasing Jill trying to save Matilda from the experiments. The film ends on a cliffhanger which shows that Matilda could sleep because she temporarily died in the lake. If there be a sequel of the film, then it would showcase the reason behind the hallucination and provide answers to the questions raised in awake.
