Recently, AMC Networks announced It’s a Sin actress Keeley Hawes will be joining the cast of the long-awaited series Orphan Black: Echoes!
The series Orphan Black is set to debut next year in 2023. It is produced and distributed globally by Boat Rocker, the company behind the original series, Orphan Black: Echoes. Also, the makers have revealed that the show will have a 10-episode first season and is currently in production in Toronto, Canada.
Keely’s extensive list of television credits includes leading roles in Honour, The Durrells, and Finding Alice. The actress also had a standout role in Russell T Davies’ hit It’s A Sin. Besides, she has been nominated for three BAFTAs for her appearances in Mrs. Wilson, Line of Duty and Bodyguard. Keely most recently starred in The Midwich Cuckoos and is said to appear in Crossfire and Stonehouse. Her recent film credits include Philippa Lowthorpe’s Misbehaviour and a leading role in To Olivia.
After 30 years in the industry, Hawes set up her own production company Buddy Club Productions in 2019, which has since created Honour, Finding Alice and the upcoming Crossfire. Hawes announced recently that series regulars include Krysten Ritter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Love and Death) who also serves as an Executive Producer, Amanda Fix (North of Normal, High School) and Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse, Zombieland: Double Tap).
What is Orphan Black: Echoes gonna be about
Set in the near future, Orphan Black: Echoes takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. The series follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives. Thus, embarking on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.
Keely Hawes will portray a perceptive but sensitive scientist who finds herself at odds with her own moral code when circumstances lead her to make an unthinkable choice. Anna Fishko is the creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer of Orphan Black: Echoes. John Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series is on board as director and executive producer. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers from Boat Rocker on the original Orphan Black, will be back as executive producers. Katie O’Connell Marsh, Nick Nantell, and Kerry Appleyard will also executive produce for Boat Rocker.
Who else is joining the Orphan Black cast
As per latest reports, the additions of Amanda Fix and Avan Jogia are set to be featured in the star cast of Orphan Black: Echoes. Fix will be playing Jules. She’s gonna be this salty teen who’s constantly trying to find herself, and the newly adopted daughter of wealthy parents who is tough as nails, a little reckless but brutally smart.
Then, Jogia will play Jack, a soft-spoken former army medic and single father who has devoted his life to raising his daughter. However, he discovers the woman he loves has an unimaginable secret.
